Kantha is a centuries old embroidery craft that has been passed down in learning and heirloom from mother to daughter. Hailing from the eastern part of the Indian Subcontinent, the art that has been prevalent since pre-Vedic times is now seeing a strong revival!
The distinct style of Kantha embroidery involves creating patterns using thousands of close running stitches! Womenfolk usually gather together in their leisure time and create these one of a kind pieces!
This saree in Banglori Silk ( not pure silk) is the base for these women to create designs inspired by the scenes around them. The work is done in prominent areas of the saree making this handmade saree a scene stealing wear!
The saree is ready to wear with falls and pico done. An unstitched blouse fabric with embroidery for the sleeve borders is included.
*Note: There may be minor variations in the shade, the texture of the product. Hues/textures show differently based on ambient lighting, gadget settings, etc. *Note: This is a 100% hand embroidered saree. There may be slight inconsistencies such as residual stencil marks, slight inconsistencies in the embroidery etc. Being characteristic they are not considered defects.
