Gajalakshmi or the form of Goddess Lakshmi, who is seen sitting in Padmasana pose and flanked my mighty elephants symbolizes strength and wisdom. This grand mural is handpainted in Tanjore style. She is depicted in all her splendor with a smiling face and in abhaya mudra or the blessing hand pose. Gold accents have been used liberally and highlight the golden aura and bowl of gold coins among other things. Goddess Lakshmi is associated with prosperity and beauty and gold jewelry motifs are painted along the border in key areas.
A smaller motif has been painted in the chest area of the saree, depicting that she also resides in our hearts! Lotus motifs are added for the blouse sleeve borders as well.
The saree is made of 100% pure silk, that is light, easy to drape and just the right thickness for the paint to absorb well without being overly stiff. Woven in Banaras, the saree has the unmistakable Banarasi Borders.
Ready to wear with falls and pico done and Green unstitched blouse piece, It is a must addition for the festive season as it is a true definition of mystical aura.
Note: The work on the saree is 100% handmade and there may be slight inconsistencies in the painting such as smudges and specks of paint.
