The Ikkat style of textile patterning is believed to have its roots in South East Asia and now practiced in a few regions in India, prominent among them being being in the Indian states of Gujarat, Odisha and Telengana.
Quite often the prominent designs of one region are integrated into the weaves of another. We present one such saree from Pochampally, with Geometric and Animal motifs that are prominent in the Patola Ikkat.
This stately saree features Royal Elephant Motifs all over the body of the saree. The fabric is pure silk in a sought after Mustard Yellow Dual tone. Contrast Red borders with Ikkat over the Tissue Zari define the edges.
The saree is ready to wear with falls and pico done. Signature tassels lend more charm! An unstitched blouse fabric is included.
