Magnificent statement saree with handpainted mural featuring Ardanareshwar, which is the Sanskrit name that means half man and half woman. It is the earliest forms of gender equality and portrays the equal yet complementing forces depicted by Shiva and his consort Shakti. The Mural is detailed, colorful and depicts expressions vividly.
The mural is magnificent covering a sizable portion of the pallu. The saree is painted on pure natural silk on a purple red dual tone color.
A large mural of the Shiva-Shakti face is prominent in the chest area as well.
The saree is made of 100% pure silk, that is light, easy to drape and just the right thickness for the paint to absorb well without being overly stiff.
It is ready to wear with falls and pico done. Pretty tassels add charm. A plain blouse fabric is included.
Note: The work on the saree is 100% handmade and there may be slight inconsistencies in the painting such as smudges and specks of paint.
