Absolutely no shortcuts have been used to produce these sought-after beauties.
In a world of shortcuts, where many kalamkari Sarees today are painted on screen-printed outlines, and several steps suggested for this 3000-year-old art form are conveniently skipped, this saree has been passionately created under the guidance of a national award-winning artist in India. The making of this saree involves an elaborate process that spans several days and includes aspects like treating the saree in boiling milk and other organic compounds, using all-natural mineral and vegetable-based dyes, fixating the dyes, and finally neutralizing any pungent residue with natural musk.
The fabric used is pure tussar silk that has zari borders woven in. The colors are elegant and muted due to natural dyes for a charming rustic look.
The entire saree and blouse piece are Handpainted by several artists working simultaneously. The saree is a labor of love and is ready to wear with falls and pico done. Designer handmade. tassels are added for more charm.
***Note: Since natural dyes are used instead of synthetic ones on pure tussar ( which has a different color absorption factor from other fabrics, the colors will be muted.
***** Colors May vary from what you see due to screen settings and other factors.
****Note: the saree is made of pure natural tussar and the kalamkari work on it is completely handmade. There may be slight inconsistencies such as paint smudges etc. Being characteristic they are not considered defects.
