The historic city of Varanasi/Banaras has the unique distinction of being one of the oldest continually inhabited cities in the world, but has also attracted people from all around the world! With people come traditions, and Banarasi weaving has influences from several cultures from within India and around it.
The luxurious Tanchoi weave, is believed to be a weaving form from China. Crafted by master weavers, it is woven with intricate floral patterns with no cut or floating threads in the back! This beautiful saree comes in a red base and features the "nagkesar" flower. Intricate and long Paisley motifs adorn the pallu and border.
Woven to beauty, the fabric is a soft pure satin silk. The saree is ready to wear with falls and pico done. Hand knotted tassels add charm.
