Bearing a distinct character, this form of hand block printing is believed to have been prevalent since the Harrapan civilization.
Practiced in the Kutch region, the arduous task of patterning involves about a dozen steps including pre-treating the fabric in organic compounds to absorb the natural dyes better and block printing one color after the other across the length and breadth of the saree. Producing each color is a unique one. Some dyes are boiled in a copper pot, others are fermented and some are formed into a thick paste. Once these natural dyes soak into the fabric, it is washed multiple times and post-treated to retain color.

Presenting an authentic handcrafted Ajrakh saree on modal silk fabric in Black and the vertical floral jaal print throughout the body makes this saree more stunning.

This saree is ready to wear with fall and pico done.  An unstitched blouse fabric is included.
