Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh is the heart of these world famous sarees. This tradition of forming patterns on georgette completely by hand was brought by the Mughals. While its popularity is only increasing, the number of skilled artisans who are experts in this art form is dwindling making these more exquisite over time. These sarees are also valued for the amount of manual labor and skilled craftsmanship involved in creating these beauties.
