Pochumpally Ikkat has a long history and is a highly sought-after design these days. Crafting this fabric involves a 2 step process. In the first step, segments of silk yarn are carefully resist dyed in several different dyes one after the other. Then they are woven to yield beautiful and rigid geometric patterns using complex calculations.

The body of the drape features a contemporary wave design and a traditional Ikkat design near the border. Crafted in luxurious Kanjivaram silk, the border of the saree plays its part in making this drape a prized possession of fine zari detailing in Kanjivaram style.
