The ancient city of Banaras was a melting pot of various cultures across the world. Weavers from all over the sub-continent traveled to this flourishing city and trapped its magic in their weaves. One can observe a glimpse of it in the sarees that still carry the scent of times gone by.

Out of the many renowned Banarasi weave is the Tanchoi weave, a technique that traveled from China to Benares via Gujarat. In this technique, additional threads are used in the base weft to give it an embossed look.

Set in the dreamy satin fabric this saree has heartwarming florals that are delicately woven to precision. The well-crafted borders and pallu speak volumes about the craftsmanship and the legacy of an original Banarasi Tanchoi.
