Crafted in the looms of Maheshwar, Madhya Pradesh, this ethereal silk saree is a treat to the eyes. Traditional weaving techniques dating back to the 5th century are used to create this marvel. The carvings and inscriptions on the Ahilya Fort, Maheswar inspire the motifs of these sarees. Popularised by Maharani Ahilya Bhai Holkar, these sarees are known for their durability and glossy texture. This airy, lightweight saree is reversible with two colors different from one another on each side. The body of the saree is set in a Maroon and red color, while the pallu and border are Red and Maroon color. Vertical Zari motifs adorn the body of the saree.
The saree is ready to wear with falls and pico done. Hand-knotted tassels lend charm.
