Presenting a saree specially handmade for Vishu or New year celebrated in Kerala. The mural is painted completely by hand by trained artists and the details are fine!
The pallu showcases Vishukani or a traditional set of of auspicious items arranged in front of Lord Krishna's idol. During the auspicious hour on the New Years day, children in particular are ushered in to the Vishkani area with their eyes covered. They are uncovered in a way, that the first thing the eyes see is this auspicious set up.
The borders display neem flower bunches, which are an integral part of this festival.
The fabric is pure handloom cotton that has the right absorbency for this art.
The saree is ready to wear with falls and pico done. This saree is NOT woven with a blouse fabric.
Note: Product color may slightly vary due to photographic lighting sources or your device settings. This saree is handmade and there may be slight inconsistencies may be present such as in the painting. Being a work of hand these are characteristic and are not considered defects.
