Jahota, with its centuries-old textile printing heritage, offers a fascinating glimpse into the confluence of history, culture, and craftsmanship. The involvement of Maharaja Jai Singh and his wife in fostering Jahota Print underlines its historical significance. The process itself, combining Syahi-Begar and Dabu techniques, is a prime example of the deep artistry that thrives in Rajasthan's rural villages.

Syahi-Begar, with its rich and earthy colours like red, black, brown, and maroon, is the first step in this elaborate process.

The second step—Dabu—introduces a whole new layer of complexity. This mud-resist printing technique uses a natural paste made from clay, wheat flour, and other local ingredients to create intricate patterns on the fabric. The resist areas are then left untouched by the indigo dye, resulting in the beautiful contrast of dark blue against the other colours. This meticulous method creates not just textiles, but pieces of art that reflect the harmonious interaction between nature and human creativity.

The blending of these techniques produces a unique style that is distinctly Jahota Print, known for its depth, texture, and richness in visual appeal. The result is not merely a functional textile but a narrative woven into each pattern—each print telling a story of Jahota's cultural heritage. What’s even more remarkable is that, despite the centuries-old roots of this craft, it continues to thrive, carrying with it the essence of the village’s tradition, albeit with modern twists.

The saree features comes in gossamer Chanderi Silk Cotton and carries on it the classy and earthly prints!
