Ikkat has a long history and is a highly sought-after design these days. This is a completely handwoven Ikkat silk Saree that comes from Pochampalli, a small town in Andhra Pradesh that is famous for this style of weaving. Although this technique is believed to have originated in Indonesia, a few places in India particularly Pochampalli are well known for practicing this style. This fabric involves a 2 step process in the making. First, segments of the silk yarns are carefully resist dyed in several different dyes one after the other. Then they are woven to yield these beautiful and rigid geometric patterns using complex calculations.

This saree is crafted in white with a rose jaal design throughout the body and the twin elephant design in the pallu is further enhanced with a red zari border for a timeless charm.

SILK MARK CERTIFIED

This saree is ready to wear with fall and pico done. Handmade silk tassels adorn the pallu and add more grace to it. An unstitched blouse fabric is included.

*Note: There may be minor variations in the shade, the texture of the product. Hues/textures show differently due to variations in screen settings and other factors,
*Note: This is a handwoven saree and there may be slight inconsistencies such as in it's weaving. These are characteristic of handmade products and attest to their originality and are not considered as defects.
